This classic dairy-free chocolate brownie icing will remind you of your grandma’s brownies. Sweet, chocolatey, and a little crunch on the top.
- 3 tablespoons of softened vegan butter
- 1 tablespoon of honey
- 3 tablespoons of cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
- 1 cup of powdered sugar
- 3 tablespoons of evaporated goat milk
Why Use Goat Milk?
This recipe is inspired by my grandmother-in-law. She always had the best brownie icing, but when my family had to go dairy-free we simply stopped icing our brownies. That is until I discovered evaporated goat milk. Evaporated goat milk is very creamy which makes it the perfect substitute for heavy cream in recipes! (Goat milk is homogenized meaning that the cream does not easily separate from the milk like that of a cow. Therefore goat milk is naturally creamy.)
How to Make Dairy-Free Chocolate Brownie Icing

3 tablespoons of softened vegan butter.
1 tablespoon of honey.
3 tablespoons of cocoa powder.
1 teaspoon of vanilla extract.
1 cup of powdered sugar.
Add 3 tablespoons of evaporated goat milk one at a time to the bowl as it is mixing.
Add the first tablespoon.
Then add the second tablespoon.
Finally, add the third tablespoon.
Once you add the third tablespoon of evaporated goat milk for the dairy-free chocolate brownie icing, mix it on low for a minute or two until the icing becomes nice and smooth.
